Shown here is Seansibility Labs' animated depiction of cell phone calls into and out of Washington DC on the day of the Obama inauguration. Note the foreign activity. On their site, the group also showed the same analysis at the city level and other graphs of data indicating the huge peak in international calls on inauguration day and ramping on the surrounding days. Also, there was a direct correlation between the percentage of African Americans in a state to the number of calls made that day. Interesting stuff.
