YouTube now allows for a 2GB upload and also enabled HD embeds...pretty sweet...now we just need to allow for these larger embeds here on the sift.

Due to personal reasons, peggedbea had to leave for a while, which means that I'm sitting in the airport now, and have to bitch and moan to lufthansa to get me home 5 days early.

There wouldn't happen to be anyone near DFW who can house a poor Dane until the 7th?

Lufthansa only have office hours in ~2 hours, so I'm just sitting around now.

It definitely holds true for me. The pathways in my gray matter are deeply etched, why would I want to un-etch them?

I have a particular way that I use VideoSift too- I bookmark most of the pages I frequent and go directly there.

In the next few weeks some significant changes will be brought in with 4.0. Although they may make VideoSift look pretty different from the community you love - I hope you'll give them a chance - and let new interesting grooves form in your brain. As I've always said VideoSift is about the people - and that's not changing.

We'll be taking feedback from testers and then everyone else after the general release. This community will continue to evolve and change with everyone's input and creative juices. I love that everyone who has ever worked on this site has bubbled up from the community - and that's no different for 4.0. It's going to be great.

- dag

As I was walking past a man who A) appeared normal in all regards and B) also appeared to be chatting with "someone" in a car (though I could not tell if that someone actually existed in our reality), the portion of the conversation (or possibly the monologue) I heard was worth repeating here.

This is what I think I heard...

"You're in the swamp. You're trying to get out, but you're in the swamp. You can't get out of the swamp. You can try, but it's a swamp. I mean, 1) [long pause] you're in the swamp."

After that the traffic drowned him out. I wanted to know what point number 2) was going to be. Whether this guy was talking to someone in that car or not, he has a thing for swamps.

- blankfist

Yesterday afternoon I drove home during a thunderstorm that included lots of lightning. When I got inside my answering machine was dead, florescent bulb in the bathroom was dead and my modem had trouble finding the Internet. I had to replace all three.

This morning my neighbor called to let me know lightning struck the tree behind my house and that bark went flying. And so, without further ado, I give you a couple of photos.

Looks lke a feline made the tree a scratching post.

(3 comments - 129 views)

I imagine they are going to put him in the casket with wig on and donning a Sargent Pepper suit but I personally think they should do something a little more traditional. It's the guy's funeral after all, give him one opportunity to be normal. He spent so much of his life being exploited that it's easy to forget
that undernieth it all he was a real person. The whole situation reminds me of the painting Marge Simpson made of Mr. Burns.

Behind Michael Jackson's fame, behind his bizzare childhood, the memories we all have of growing up with him, the makeup, the scandals, his children, the plastic surgery, and after 50 years of life, there was nothing left but a frail man. His death, because he was almost a representation of the good and bad in all of us, made a lot of people reflect on their own lives. And looking back at the rollercoaster he lived on, it's no wonder he turned out the way he did.

My flight windows got delayed for a fucking month. I wonlt be deployng to Iraw until July 23rd. That's why I'm still hanging around.

TRANSLATED VERSION

is great and I wanted to update you. I might be a little drunk in which case I'll update this later. In fact, I can already see the spelling errors and I'll keep them for good measure. My flight window got delayed for a fucking month. I won't be deploying to Iraq until July 23rd. That's why I'm still hanging around.

[Now that I'm sober]

Holy shit. I didn't start drinking until ~ 11:30 last night. I had to report in at 8. Thankfully, since there's only a few of us waiting to fly out (since the rest of the battalion is gone) we don't. do. anything. Seriously. We check in at 8. We're told to do a police call (pick up trash in the area) and then we go back at 1300 (1:00) where we're told to come back at 8:00. Seriously, that's the routine we've had for over a month and will have for another month.

So anyway, we got shit-faced and watched movies until about 4 something in the morning, so when formation came around this morning I was most certainly still drunk. Now that it's 1:30 in the workday, I'm finally waking up (didn't have to check in - we were just told to clean our rooms for some Colonel's inspection) I thought I should post more details.

We were supposed to take a civilian flight, but since there's one more battalion of Marines flying out, they decided to stick us with them later. Which is really fine by me - it's one less month in the hot season and one more in the cold season. As as Farhad can tell you, the heat in that region is no fucking joke.

- MarineGunrock

...and off the Chantix.

I actually stopped taking it about a week ago. I didn't like the effects and I felt like it had already helped me get over the hump. Now, I barely even think about smoking. I even go outside and hang out with the smokers with no urge to partake. I got wasted this weekend...still no smoking. It's like I was never a smoker at all. I personally think that the recommended 3 months on Chantix is overkill, considering I didn't even use up 2 weeks of my 1 month supply. My girlfriend has quit now too . She's gonna cold turkey it though since she was only doing 4 or 5 cigs a day.

So would I recommend Chantix? Yes I would. But I'd be careful to listen to my body. If the effects are negative, and you don't feel like you need to take it, then stop taking it.
